Underground and a musical voyager to some of the most beautiful destinations of
the World)
At press time, I checked to see that
my last writing was March, 2015, some two & half lifetime’s ago it seems. I
don’t have any excuses. Fast forward 2017. So far so good, went much farther in
terms of accomplishments & destinations for sure – new band, new record,
new destinations & some old and a brand new lease in life.
So let’s go back to 2015. That started out quite nicely personally but
musically insignificant -except for my very short stint doing lead vocals for
TROPICAL DEPRESSION plus a few boring solo stints. Then 2016 kicked off really
slow but started picking up in the summer time with stints in TUGUEGARAO,
GENERAL SANTOS, BACOLOD, DAVAO & CORON, which provided the much needed
inspiration to move on.
And so about a year ago today, I
finally amassed the energy to form a band and christened it ROCKOUSTIC BLUES
EXPERIMENT. Quite some time in the making actually, had been using the name
since my early days in Boracay (Part 3 soon),
2009. This time, I fancied a 5-piece group with a keyboard-based playlist. We
did gigs in and around metro manila until we hit a wall when one of the more
prominent venues demanded recorded material from their performers and hence an
album was conceived.
So at the start of 2017, I set out
to produce this album and called it “IN-FLIGHT”, inspired in great part by the
continuing journeys of this writer. After the release of the album, now
available for streaming over Spotify and downloads on iTunes & Amazon, the
band went on a rampage and staged a successful album promotional concert tour to
the Visayas & North Luzon and to date, I’ve added BALER (a cool surfing destination) plus repeat
gigs in SIARGAO, BORACAY & CORON to my HIT
LIST!
Also this year, LOUDHOUSE MUSIC re-released
“ALERT LEVEL”, that seminal 90’s compilation album featuring TROPICAL
DEPRESSION COLOR IT RED, THE BREED & my favorite THE RIZAL UNDERGROUND, to
celebrate my birthday to boot, with a really cool gig to celebrate the release
at THE ROADHOUSE MANILA BAY. As of writing, the RIZAL UNDERGROUND has picked up
a few gigs this year with a nice get together to celebrate the birthday of the
twins plus a stint at the recently concluded 2017 DUTDUTAN TATTOO CONVENTION. I
will be writing about these in separate blogs at a later time. I just wanted to
catch up with my writing just to keep track of what has transpired since my
last.

soon, with the digital release of the music of the RUNAWAY BOYS on the
LOUDHOUSE MUSIC ENTERPRISE Records pages & a brand new music video from the
